The 2026 MLS All-Star kit made its on-pitch debut during the All-Star Game against the Liga MX All-Stars in Charlotte. Designed by Adidas, the jersey takes heavy inspiration from the inaugural 1996 MLS All-Star kit, featuring a rich blue base paired with striking green, yellow, and white lightning bolt graphics extending from the shoulders across the torso.

A unique detail of this year's uniform is the addition of national flag patches on the upper chest, customized for each individual player to represent their native country/countries. The kit also marks the first time an MLS All-Star jersey carries the classic Adidas Trefoil logo. Front and center, digital banking provider Chime makes its debut as the primary presenting sponsor.

Legacy Numbers first appeared on England match shirts on November 14, 2019, to celebrate the team's historic 1,000th international match against Montenegro.

The player with Legacy Number 1 is goalkeeper Robert Barker, who played in England’s very first official international match against Scotland on November 30, 1872. Meanwhile, the newest name on the list is Rio Ngumoha, who takes number 1,300.

At the 2026 World Cup, the squad member with the lowest legacy number is Jordan Henderson's 1,170.

FC Barcelona debuted their new Nike 26-27 home shirt during a pre-season friendly match against Birmingham City. However, rather than wearing the primary dark shorts standard for the design, the Catalan side took to the pitch in an alternative combination featuring red shorts and red socks.

The choice to pair the striped 26-27 home jersey with red shorts created a striking, predominantly red lower half. This alternative configuration might was used to avoid a socks clash with Birmingham City, but it was not really needed9

Following the official release of the Sunderland 26-27 home kit by Hummel, supporters and shirt collectors receiving their retail jerseys have highlighted a noticeable pattern alignment issue. Designed as a tribute to the club's historic 1937 FA Cup-winning side, the home shirt pairs traditional red and white vertical stripes with a classic buttoned collar and a retro shield crest. However, close-up photos of physical retail shirts reveal severe stripe misalignment along the upper chest and shoulder seams.

As highlighted by kit content creator @Kitkingdom83 on social media, the vertical stripes on the front body do not align smoothly with the sleeve panels. On both sides of the upper torso, the red body stripes abruptly meet contrasting white panels or cut off diagonally across the raglan seam, creating an awkward visual break right above the Hummel logo and club badge. Fans online quickly agreed with the criticism, pointing out that better pattern matching should be expected for a flagship kit release.

Raglan sleeve construction frequently poses pattern-matching challenges for manufacturers, especially when dealing with traditional vertical stripes. While the overall design concept and historical touches of the Sunderland 26-27 home kit have been well-received, the visible alignment flaws on retail versions raise quality control concerns for Hummel as the club prepares for the upcoming campaign.

In the latest promotional post for their new 26-27 away kit, Manchester United was spotted using an outdated version of the UEFA Champions League patch. The shirt featured the old starball badge with a white border instead of the updated black outline - a minor mistake that also appeared during the club's earlier home kit launch.

Back in 2024, UEFA introduced a redesigned Champions League patch with a outer black border to improve visibility on light-colored jerseys. Since United missed out on Champions League football during the first two seasons of the new design, the club's kit staff might simply still be getting used to the updated spec. RCD Mallorca supporters were left bewildered after Paris Saint-Germain merchandise was spotted for sale inside the La Liga club's official store at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.

Photos shared on social media by @llorinski show Nike PSG gear, including 24-25 home and away shirts as well as bucket hats, displayed right alongside Mallorca’s own kit range.

Following the official launch of Brighton & Hove Albion's 26-27 third kit, many supporters were quick to point out that the design and colorway look almost identical to the club's coaching staff training top.

Both shirts share the exact same setup: a dominant Emerald Green base, Pale Cyan accents, a white Nike Swoosh, and a black-and-white monochrome club crest.

Adidas have hidden a clever tribute to River Plate's iconic identity on the club's 2026-27 home socks. Rather than using a standard "RIVER" wordmark, the German brand has subtly reshaped one side of the "V" to recreate the club's famous red diagonal sash.

The detail references one of football's most recognizable shirt designs. According to club tradition, River Plate's iconic sash originated in 1905, when members of the club took a red ribbon from a carnival parade and placed it diagonally across a plain white shirt, creating a design that has remained synonymous with the Argentine giants ever since.

This detail does not appear on the black sock option.

In the span of less than two weeks, Aston Villa have already played 4 different pre-season friendlies, where their both of their home kit combinations have been debuted.

The original version with claret shirt, blue shorts and blue socks were used 3 times against Walsall, Real Sociedad and Liga Indonesia All Stars. The full-claret variation has its first appearance at Porto's Dragão.

There is expected to be more kit mashups between these shirt, shorts and socks choices being used in the upcoming season (other than these two), depending on each opponent's colors.

At the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), defending champions Nigeria featured a special detail on their shirts: 10 stars added above their crest. The "Super Falcons" had never worn stars on their kits in previous WAFCONs.
